Tina was a homeless dog that spent quite some time on her own. She wandered the streets of Romania until a local rescue group called Howl Of A Dog spotted her by the side of a very busy highway. She knew she needed help but she was just too scared to be rescued.
The rescuers tried to lure the dog into a safer place. They offered her treats and hoped that the day would soon end with a successful rescue. But they came close to losing her because they ran out of food and yet, she was still on the loose.
To make sure they don’t lose the dog, the rescuers asked a friend to bring in some more tasty treats. While waiting, they kept an eye on her and followed her everywhere she went. They kept her safe and prevented her from running into traffic.
Tina gladly accepted the treats the rescuers offered. But she was so hesitant to let them come close. She didn’t know if she could trust them so she decided to run up the forest road and hid in the mountains.
Rescuing the dog was quite an adventure. But once they were away from the moving cars, she felt more relaxed, and eventually, the rescuers managed to gain her trust. They continued to befriend her, and once an opportunity presented itself, they looped a leash around her neck and walked her into their car.
At the vet’s clinic, Tina was scanned for a microchip but she didn’t have any. She underwent an extensive examination and was tested for canine distemper because she had a runny nose and an eye discharge. Fortunately, the test came back negative and all she needed was eye drops and her eye infection cleared in no time.
It didn’t take very long for Tina to transform from a terrified stray to a happy dog. She learned to play with toys and enjoyed going on walks. She was so happy that her life changed and was even more delighted when she found her forever home.
Tina now lives in the U.S. with her mom Dawn and her sister Betty. Every day, she goes on walks and plays with other dogs at the dog park. She has a beautiful basket full of toys and she takes them all out any time she wants to play.
