Ben Hed is probably one of the most popular artists to ever grace Instagram. His IG account, Pet Foolery, has over two million followers as of writing. That comes as no surprise since that’s where he uploads most of his creations.
He’s also the brains behind the famous webcomic series, “Pixie and Brutus.” It’s a story about a German Shepherd and a kitten who love each other to the core regardless of their differences. Their deep friendship is admired by their fans, especially since they’re quick to protect each other whenever they sense any potential threat nearby.
Aside from the strong bond between the two, people have also been following their story to know more about Brutus. He has a chip on his right ear and a scar on his left eye. People know that there’s a reason behind his wounds, and they’ve long been wanting to know what it is.
A revelation
It’s not that Ben’s been turning a blind eye to the fans’ desire to know Brutus’s story. He wanted to take his sweet time in writing and illustrating it. The dog’s story has depth to it, and hurrying the creative process won’t do it justice.
He hinted about it in August 2020. He uploaded images showing how Brutus changed over the years. A few posts later, he revealed how the dog got his scars. Since the story involved a lot of violence and blood, he made sure to write a caution at the beginning of the post.
Emotional details
Those who read the story found themselves crying before reaching the end of the post. It crushed them, and it took a while for them to let the pain go. What made the story even more painful for everyone was how Brutus trained himself to live with the pain.
